| God is soo sweet. I enjoy Him a lot. I can't help but testify that my life has not been the same since He made himself known to me. Praise Him. I made it home alive and intact. Came home to craziness, but it's ight, I love Home! Preaching tomorrow morning, Philippians 3 Part 2 | | |
| After an entire weekend stranded in Junction City Kansas we finally got back on the Road Yesterday at about 6:00 pm. The new engine sounds great, but now we have a nice size crack on one of our exhaust pipes and it sounds a little like a Harley Davidson. Being Stranded in Junction City Kansas was not that bad at all. On friday night we slept very uncomfortably in the rental car, and saturday afternoon we had to give it up. Man that rental car put a dent in our wallets! But it was good while it lasted. We ended up making "Jim Clark's Chevrolete Dealership" our home for the weekend. We weren't that far from the town it was about a two and half mile walk, and we did it! Sunday we woke up and walked 2 1/2 miles to go to church, and we were blessed to see the very small, but very faithful body of Christ at "Grace Community Church." Me with my long hair and facial hair, Travis with his facial hair and peirced ears, we went to this church. I had some reservations, but the first thing that comes out of Sister Myrlene (the pastor's wife) was "I love your hair, you are beautiful." From then on, I knew I was accepted. We had no money, and still now are scrapping the bottom of our money pot. While outside I pull out my lunch; toasted Peanut Butter Crackers, and began to offer some to others standing around. Then I thought, "Crap, he's gonna think we have nothing to eat (at least, nothing substantial)" So out of the kindness of his heart, and out of obedience to the Word of God, Pastor Franklyn treated us to some Church's Chicken; and man did that taste ever so good! It's neat to see the body of Christ at work outside of our homes. In our Journey God has been faithful to provide: Lunch meat, bread, and mustard. He provided, a place to sleep in, and even port-a-potties for us to do our business in. He provided water (the dealerships, outdoor hose spicket) to shower in (not sure if the dealership appreciated that). He provided Spiritual nourishment. And last night as we were running out of Gas, I give glory to God that He multiplied that Gas to go an extra 11.5 miles. He's worthy to be praised! He even shows up in your day, and gives you a reason to praise Him! Amen Brothers and sisters, Abide in His love and in His trut, Walk in His mercy and in His victory. Peace out! Till the next available computer... | | |
| I've been to Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Indiana, Missouri, Kansas (Broke Down in Kansas), Colorado, New Mexico, Texas. Colorado is a sweet place. Beautiful snow covered mountains. The Garden of the god's is a sweet place. Never drive through Texas unless you have to, it is huge. Our road trip will resume come thursday or Friday, Back to Kansas to pick up the new and improved Minnie Winnebago. Oh, Yeah, our engine blew in the midst of one of the fiercest storms. Tornado warnings and all. Not Fun! We're in houston right now, we drop off one of our brothers so we'll be down to two travelers. We have a few stories, But I tell you, for those contemplating doing a cross country road trip, DO IT!!! It is definitely doable. Just do it! | | |
| The biggest mistake we make is to impose onto others unrealistic expectations. This is true in all facets of relationships. But I'm talking about discipleship. Isn't is disheartening to see no fruit for your labor? Isn't it discouraging to see those you've invest time with, not putting to practice all that's been discussed? Sure it is! We want to see fruit! There's nothing wrong with that! I've spent a year here in Philadelphia working fulltime. Crazy hours investing in the lives of teens and adults for the Kingdom of God. But I've missed too much while"I" have been working. I came into ministry with ideals and a genuine experience in my walk with God. I've been through trials and tribulation and have seen the progressive sanctification of the Holy Spirit in my life. In those trials I have matured in discernment, don't get me wrong, I've screwed up, but even my screw ups are viewed with a different perspective. It is freeing and enlightening to be able to distinguish the work of God in your life, but on the flip-side if we're not careful we begin to form a framework of how God works in peoples lives, using ourselves as the major subject. We can become the prototype for Christianity. The Biggest mistake we make is to expect the Lord to sanctify others in the same way He has sanctified us. Yes, we, who have believed, have the Holy Spirit and He's the man at changing us. But no, He does not do it the same for everyone. Yo God is creative! It would be boring for Him to change people in the same way! Don't become proud in yourself, instead boast in Jesus Christ, Walk humbly! And show grace to the weak, every single one of us is weak, that's why we need Him. | | |
| I am realizing more and more, how much I need the Spirit's work of sanctification. It is sweet, and sometimes he uses the people in our lives, the stage in life we're in, and moves us on when we're ready. It's no assembly line, it's intimate time. It is God, the Righteous, not just requiring righteousness, but making a provision, Jesus, to enable righteousness. Truly His ways are unsearchable! Who can say God is unjust in His wrath? Having made the provision. Not only is Jesus my righteousness, He is my restorer by His Spirit. The restoration of what God called "very good" in the beginning of time. Lord, may our eyes be unveiled and our ears be open to hear and perceive what You have saved us from; YOUR RIGHTEOUS WRATH! Praise You oh God! | | |
